Punk angst has matured and developed from social revolution and anarchy to a social ageing discontent. Through the turbulent view of developing ailments and realities of growing old, Grumpy Old Punks arise from life’s inevitable doom and fuel it with the immortal rage of punk. Formed by the bands lead singer and the self-proclaimed “Radio’s Last Hope” and “King of all Mediocre,” Lou Brutus, who has sixteen plus years in national syndication and has held the past eleven on Sirius XM satellite radio.
Band mates include: KRoy on guitar, Brian on bass and Guzda on drums. Three of the band members (KRoy, Lou B and Guzda) trace their friendships back to grade school and growing up in Manalapan, New Jersey. Together in a band back in their school days and with the experience of seeing bands like The Clash and The Ramones, has developed into a lifelong camaraderie of different musical backgrounds and a present day, old school punk phase, humorously voicing their discontent of their middle-aged woes.
Grumpy Old Punks released their second EP Anarchy in the Prostate, with a limited edition vinyl 45rpm. Produced by the band, the album was mixed by Mike Landolt (Maroon 5, OAR, Watershed, Dead Schembechlers, Mushroomhead,Train) and music and lyrics by leadsinger, LouB and guitarist, KRoy. It features more of their middle age punk rock rage including “I Brag about the Sleep I Get”, “Gotta Get A Nose Hair Trimmer”, “My Adjustable Rate Mortgage Really Sucks”, “Why Do I Take This Little Blue Pill”, “All I Do is Drive My Kids” and the urinary tract title track.
