Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Niki & The Dove have made a name for themselves, receiving praise from the likes of BBC, NME and Pitchfork. It makes sense–their songs, luscious and atmospheric, float elegantly underneath Malin Dahlstrom’s soulful vocals. “I want to waste my love on you,” sings Dahlstrom in “Tomorrow.” Her gloomy declaration is enthralling, emphasized by the waves of moody synths that accompany her.
But the group has no reason to be sad. Their September performances serves as the band’s first ever U.S. tour, including a few festival stops at Brooklyn’s Northside and Seattle’s Bumbershoot. As for Niki & The Dove’s full-length debut, the digital and vinyl copies are very similar, with one distinct difference. Unlike the digital copy, the vinyl will feature an extended version of the song “Under The Bridges.” The CD will feature 14 songs, two of which are unreleased songs “The Beach,” and “All This Youth.” The digital version is available online through iTunes, while the vinyl and CD versions will be released on August 7.
