“I’m not anywhere,” sings Cedric Bixler-Zavala on “Anywhere,” the first single from his latest musical endeavor Anywhere. Confusing? Yes. Awesome? Absolutely. Anywhere, a collaborative effort between Bixler-Zavala (At the Drive-In, The Mars Volta), Christian Beaulieu, Rachel Fannan (Sleepy Sun) and Mike Watt (The Stooges, fIREHOSE), will be making their musical debut this summer, with a self-titled LP.
What originally began as a project between Bixler-Zavala and Beaulieu, has since grown into a four-piece group. Combining the abrasiveness of punk and the ethereal guitar sounds of acid rock, Anywhere will send listeners on a musical journey that they may never want to return from. Recorded by engineer Toshi Kasai, the group’s self-titled album blends acoustic and electric guitar, with an assortment of percussion, creating an otherworldly sound that is infectious.
Comprised of seven songs Anywhere’s self-titled LP will be released on July 24, through ATP Recordings. If you expect your summer adventures to get a little trippy, this album may be the perfect musical accompaniment.
