Austin-based funk/hip-hop/rock and roll– or better defined as “chunk”– band, T Bird and the Breaks have released a new single, “Good So Bad”. In 2011, the band kept busy with the release of their latest album, Never Get Out of this Funk Alive, touring with Galactic, and stealing the show at Austin City Limits Music Festival and Fun Fun Fun Fest. If blinked and missed it all somehow, now is the time to take notice.
Their new single was written and arranged by guitarist and vocalist Johnny “Too Bad” Allison. The track features the rich vocals and attitude of “Too Bad”, supported by guitarist and vocalist, Sasha Ortiz, the steady, heavy rhythms of Cody Furr on bass, and the uplifting percussion beats from Sammy Patlove. Meanwhile, on the track, T Bird (Tim Crane) is playing the piano with staccato keys and a funky style. “Good So Bad” leaves you craving for more feel good, soul-nourishing tracks, resulting in anticipation for their upcoming EP release, Dancehall Freakin’, in the first week of March.
