Indie quartet Gun Lake continues to grow at an exponential rate in the music scene. Growing up in the small town of Ann Arbor in the winterland of Michigan, Mark Fain, lead vocalist, engrossed himself in the genres of 60s folk, 90s grunge, and British rock. Since then, the band has expanded to include Matt Roney, bass, Ryan O’Reilly, guitar, and Max Monson, drums and have encircled the hearts of folk music fanatics nationwide.
Their song, “June,” off their debut album Balfour, is the eerie soundtrack of the reflection of life restored and recycled. Small town native, Mark Fain’s voice projected through the soundtrack engulfs the room, echoing the murky reservoir of the small town valley he calls home.
