Queens, NY-based troubadour Juan Wauters moved from Uruguay to New York as a teenager and turned to music to take control of the loneliness that came with his new surroundings. As the frontman of the garage outfit, The Beets, Juan became known throughout the city. He has now grown into poet of sorts and his sound has matured to outsider folk music, which he plays under his own name. On his new album, Who Me?, Juan continues his approach to existential questioning through pop music.
On Friday, July 10, Juan Wauters will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at Mohawk. Austin’s own The Zoltars open the show. The best part? We have two tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
