Chicago-based garage band Twin Peaks don’t need to be bothered about the deeper meaning of their band name. They simply thought it sounded cool, which explains why their second album Wild Onion isn’t as spooky or surreal as David Lynch’s short-lived TV show. It’s more like a modern day Nuggets, with Ty Segall, Black Lips and Thee Oh Sees curating instead of Lenny Kaye. Not literally, of course. But the spirit of those garage demigods is alive and well alongside subtle nods to everything from the Pixies and Tame Impala to the godfathers of guitar-guided pop music, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the Beach Boys.
On Thursday, June 4, Twin Peaks will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at Red 7. They will be joined by touring mates Modern Vices and Austin’s own John Wesley Coleman. The best part? We have two tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
The giveaway will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below after submitting your full name and email address. Only submissions with full names will be officially entered. We will pick the winner from these submissions before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, the day before the show. The winner will be notified via email from Red River Noise.
Red 7 is located at 611 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 8 p.m. All ages are welcome. Concert will be on indoor stage. Advance tickets for this event are available for purchase online here.
