Minneapolis hip-hop collective Doomtree started as a mess of friends, fooling around after school, trying to make music without reading the manual. The group had varied tastes — rap, punk, indie rock, pop — so the music they made together often bore the toolmarks of several styles. A decade and fifty releases later, it’s all properly official-Doomtree is now a real, live label with international distribution. Although each member has a career as a solo artist, every so often the whole crew convenes to make a collaborative record as a group.
On Saturday, Feb. 7, Doomtree will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at Red 7. Project Blowed member Open Mike Eagle and Austin’s own Protextor ( p-teK) open the show. The best part? We have two tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
The giveaway will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below after submitting your full name and email address. Only submissions with full names will be officially entered. We will pick the winner from these submissions before 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, the day before the show. The winner will be notified via email from Red River Noise.
Red 7 is located at 611 E. 7th Street. Event will be on outdoor stage. Doors open at 9 p.m. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets for this event are available online here.
