Alternative rock icons Meat Puppets have been around so long that our editor says he saw them back up Nirvana on their MTV Unplugged television special. Their album Too High To Die is still a top alt-rock listacle mention on every Gen-X writers’ list. To add to their cool factor, their esteemed frontman, Curt Kirkwood, lives in Austin now. A perfect fit for Austin, their music is a blend of punk with country and psychedelic rock. Currently Meat Puppets are on tour in support of their fourteenth full-length studio album, Rat Farm.
