Mississippi-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Dent May is the self-proclaimed “king of unpop.” May is currently on tour in support of his third release, Warm Blanket, Warm Blanket (August 2013), of which he recorded in solitude in a reportedly haunted Victorian house by the bay in St. Augustine, Florida. May played almost all of the instruments on the album, making use of the house’s antique grand piano and recruiting Florida locals to fill in on horns, strings, and pedal steel guitar.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, Dent May is performing a headlining concert in Austin at Holy Mountain. Local support will come from openers Tiger Waves and Gang Sign. The best part? We have two tickets to giveaway to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
The giveaway will be conducted as a raffle from our email list. Just click “enter the drawing” below after submitting your full name and email address. Only submissions with full names will be officially entered. We will pick the winner from these submissions before 5 p.m. on Friday, the day before the show. The winner will be notified via email from Red River Noise. Good luck!
Holy Mountain is located at 617 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 8 p.m. 21+ are welcome. Advance tickets for this show are available for purchase online here.
