Los-Angeles based post-punk outfit Détective (DCTV) was formed in March 2012 by James Greer (ex-Guided By Voices), Guylaine Vivarat (ex-Useless Keys, Tennis System) and Chris Dunn, a recent transplant from Chicago (the city, where he grew up and played in about a million bands). The band is currently on tour supporting the release of their newest LP, Hilarious Heaven. The double album that was recorded with Steve Kille of Dead Meadow and is being released by both Xemu Records digitally today and physically on Jan. 21. Burger Records will release Hilarious Heaven on cassette on Jan. 21.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, DTCV will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at Mohawk. Austin-based indie bands Baby Robots and Watch Out For Rockets open. The best part? We have two tickets to give away to one of our lucky Red River Noise readers.
