Last week Austin trio Pure X celebrated the national release of their second LP, Crawling Up The Stairs. The album is said to have been born from the turmoil of vocalist Nate Grace leg injury that had him laid up for most of 2012. Track by track, Grace and his band mates, Austin Youngblood and Jessie Jenkins—who share vocal and songwriting duties—drag themselves through a bad year. The result is a more emotional and smokier sound in comparison to the group’s critically acclaimed Pleasure (2011). Pure X recently broke down Crawling Up The Stairs track by track for Spin.
