The Montreal-based trio Land of Talk, led by vocalist and songwriter Elizabeth Powell, will be headlining at The Parish in Austin this Friday, Oct. 8, and we’ll be sending one lucky Austinite (and a friend) to the show for free.
We will be giving away a pair of tickets this Friday afternoon on our Facebook page. All you have to do to qualify is click “Like” when you see a link to this post during the week.
Land of Talk is on tour in support of their sophomore full-length album, Cloak and Cipher, out on Saddle Creek Records. Joining Powell on the album are Eoin O Laoghaire on bass and Andrew Barr on drums. Their style is a blend of nineties alternative (think P.J. Harvey) and indie-folk has been winning over indie bloggers and tastemakers in their native Canada and Stateside. Take a look and listen for yourself here:
The Parish is located at 214-C East 6th St. Doors open at 8 p.m. All ages are welcome. Advance tickets are available for this through Frontgate Tickets here. This show is presented by Transmission Entertainment.
