Danny Malone may just be one of the best singer-songwriters in a town that is saturated with them. This Saturday, Aug. 1, it’s not only his birthday, but Malone will be celebrating with a show at Holy Mountain with a promising line-up. Joining him are fellow Austin songwriters Matt Hines of The Eastern Sea and Ben Ballinger.
Malone’s songs are delicate matters; delivered in a voice that is fragile yet carries the weight of his words. His poppy melodies hide the underlying angst that fills his lyrics. It’s no surprise he is a local hero, with both his last album Speeddreamer and Balloons appearing on Austin Chronicle’s “Top 10 Albums” list.
To add to the party, Malone is playing with a full band and he’s asking anyone who’s purchased a pre-sale ticket to send him song requests for his set. All you have to do is send him a picture of the ticket on his Facebook page and comment with your song of choice. Come celebrate Malone’s birthday at one of the Red River District’s favorite spots.
