Dallas-based rapper and producer Blue, The Misfit returns to Austin this Friday, May 22, for a headlining concert at Red 7. It is his first headlining show since he performed at February’s Red Bull Sound Select showcase with Mick Jenkins. As with every hip-hop concert in Austin, the headliner will have a slew of openers including local favorite and LNS Crew member Kydd Jones.
Blue, The Misfit (Brandon Blue) is a member and founder of Dallas’ Brain Gang collective. He’s an innovative and original producer who’s already worked with many notable hip-hop artists including Kendrick Lamar on his 2014 banger, “Drugs on the Schoolyard.” Later that year he released his full-length Child In The Wild, which his local alt-weekly (Dallas Observer) awarded with the “best local music release of the year” recognition. Red 7 is located at 611 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 9 p.m. All ages are welcome. $7 cover at the door. Event will be on the inside stage. Visit the Facebook event page here.
