After finishing up a thrilling 2014, Big Gigantic has kicked off the new year with a new track, “Get On Up.” Much like Big G’s saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salkin, “Get On Up” features their unique style of mixing traditional brass and electronic production. This Colorado pair will be hitting up a few cities in the States in support of their fifth studio album release The Night Is Young, before jumping back into the festival circuit. They kick off the season by making their first appearances at Lollapalooza Argentina and Brazil.
Lalli and Salkin formed Big Gigantic in 2008 and with that, they’ve created an innovative, distinct sound that is unlike any other. Lalli was classically trained with a master’s degree in jazz from the Manhattan School of Music, so his part in using live instruments is flawless. Their reputation of leading brilliant live shows has followed them throughout their career and has gained them fans from all over. Over the last few years, Big G have been on various sold-out headlining tours across the country. In 2014, the pair made their debut at Coachella, New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden. and sold-out two nights at their third annual hometown show “Rowdytown III” at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado. You won’t want to miss this show.
Stubb’s is located at 801 Red River. Doors open at 7 p.m. All ages welcome. Advance tickets for this event are available for purchase online here.
