This Saturday, Feb. 14, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Kina Grannis headlines our Valentine’s Day date night concert pick of the week at The Belmont. The West 6th venue provides the perfect backdrop for you and your boo, even offering valet parking. Her husband Jesse Epstein’s band, Imaginary Future, will open the show.
Grannis released three albums between 2005 and 2007, with her first being an album she produced for the music industry departments for the Thornton School of Music. In early 2007, she released a song “Ours to Keep,” which was featured regularly on General Hospital and was in an episode of the ABC Family‘s mini-series Samurai Girl in September 2008. A big career high occured in 2007 after she created her first YouTube account and her first video, “Message from Your Heart,” was entered into the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest. After winning the contest, her prize was a contract with Interscope Records, and she became one Youtube’s most popular personalities. In 2009, Grannis announced she was leaving her label to pursue a career as an independent artist. In support of her most recent album release Elements, the singer will go on the road for two-and-a-half weeks.
