Austin-based musical femme fatales The Harms are celebrating the release of their upcoming EP, She Turns, on Saturday, June 14, at Holy Mountain. They will be joined by Austin psych-rockers Obscured by Echoes and other local faves including Chipper Jones, Modern Pantheist and Modrag. A small cover (see details below) will give you access to some local goodness you’ve probably missed out on while standing in line for the latest super megafest.
Founded in 2012 by Austin music veteran Chase Frank, the all female group is in its second wave of members that include Jennifer Monsees (bass/vox) and Jessica Alexander (drums). She Turns was recorded at Flabby Road studios, via reel-to-reel, with a little help from Mars Volta alumnus and Free Moral Agents founder Ikey Owens. She Turns ended up becoming a seven song, twenty-three minute psychedelic, garage-surf record with some sax and flute provided by Joseph Willard of Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears.
Holy Mountain is located at 617 E. 7th Street. Doors open at 9 p.m. All ages welcome. Advance tickets are available for purchase online here. Cover will be $8 at the door. Visit the Facebook event page here.
