Tuesday, June 3, we are teaming up with our friends from San Antonio-based indie label Texas Is Funny to present the tour kickoff show for one of their young new bands, Vetter Kids. The young San Antonio/Austin-based trio is celebrating the release of their debut EP, 3. They will be joined by Austin’s Teenage Swoon.
Grunge-punk band Vetter Kids is composed of members Richard Garcia, Marcos Gossi, and Austin Matherne. All three are familiar faces as they came from other indie bands including Yes, Inferno, Sohns, Brother/Ghost and God Townes. Unlike their previous groups, Vetter Kids are keepin’ it unapologetically ’90s with a sound that recalls early grunge with a twist of angsty, early decade emo. Their debut EP 3 was released May 20.
We hope you are hanging out early as Austin-based post-punk trio Teenage Swoon set up Vetter Kids. According member Cody Hamm (bass, vocals), this is their first performance in Austin “in awhile.” Give a listen to a sample of their music below along with music from the night’s other performers.
