Tuesday, June 3, electronic genre bender Robert DeLong will be performing a headlining concert in Austin at Empire Control Room & Garage. The concert is part of DeLong’s current headlining tour that comes fresh off his Free Press Summer Fest performance in Houston. DeLong’s touring mate, DJ/producer Mike Relm, will co-headline.
DeLong is one of the few artists who pulls off the one man band role with legitimacy. The talented instrumentalist and singer-songwriter is best served live in person, despite having two excellent studio albums via Glassnote Records; 2012’s Global Concepts and Just A Movement in 2013. He’s dancy, he’s poppy and he controls his loops with video game controllers.
DeLong’s touring mate Mike Relm is no stranger to Austin. The San Francisco-based DJ/producer has opened up for Pitbull at Austin Music Hall, performed at South by Southwest on several occasions, hangs out at Do512, etc. He best known for his popular remixes and/or mashups of movies, commercials, television shows, etc. Relm combines those mashups with custom visuals he re-edits himself and projects them live during his sets. It’s pretty entertaining.
