Music By the Slice is once again hosting its eighth annual charity benefit at Austin’s own heavenly pizza source, Home Slice Pizza, on Mar. 15-16. This year all of the proceeds will go to Urban Roots and each day will stage eleven bands from all over the world supporting a great cause, with your help, all for the love of eating good.
Austin local charity, Urban roots, was founded in 2007 and is a local agriculture youth program that helps increase the access to healthy foods and for growing healthy lifestyles. Through community support, 40% of their yearly harvest goes to local food pantries and soup kitchens and the other is sold at local farmers markets.
The lineup this year includes twenty-two locals mixed in with national and worldly acts. So, come on out and support this great cause with some good food, good people and great music. No badges or wristbands, just an empty stomach and a giving heart. Listen to all the bands here.
