The ND invites moviegoers to a live comedy game show that includes classic teased hair, teen angst, and Molly Ringwald on a huge screen followed by a full menu of beverages and pizza. On Monday, Jan. 14 the people of Laugh, Dammit! present a screening of The Breakfast Club.
Laugh, Dammit! is debuting their monthly event that will now be reoccurring the second Monday of every month. Hosted by David James, Roxy Castillo, and Duncan Carson. Special guests include Carissa McAtee, Joel Keith, and Lawson Bennett as the comics of the night. Along with live comics, prizes and discounts will be included. Tickets are $7 per person but if you present a picture of the event’s poster at the door you get a $2 discount.
Five high school students who belong to different cliques meet in detention. Forced to stay in detention for the rest of the day, little by little they begin pouring their hearts out. Oddly enough, they discover they have more in common than they thought. Director John Hughes captures the story of high school stereotypes and how similar they really are. The Breakfast Club is a classic film where the typical jock, trouble-maker, geek, goth, and primadonna learn to get along. Starring Molly Ringwald (Sixteen Candles), Ally Sheedy (Short Circuit), Emilio Estevez (Bobby), Anthony Michael Hall (Weird Science), Judd Nelson (St. Elmo’s Fire), and Paul Gleason(Die Hard).
The ND is located at 501 Brushy St., next to the IH-35 frontage road. The building is located on the corner of the road. Doors open at 7 p.m and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Tickets are $7. Don’t forget to present a picture of the poster for a $2 discount.
