The ND invites moviegoers to rock out with free heavy metal films, $2 beers, and door prizes. This week mullet hairstyles, classic stained-washed jeans, and flashy guitars entertain your Friday night with a couple of drinks and company.
On Friday, Dec. 28, Encore Records presents the Heavy Metal Double Feature event. The features include the 1980’s films Heavy Metal and This is Spinal Tap, along with door prizes and free popcorn. Encore Records is shop that carries a vast collection of CD’s, records, and other collectibles. Doors are set to open at 7 p.m. but the movies are set to screen at 8 p.m.
Director Gerald Potterton captures Heavy Metal in a sci-fi kind of way. The animated film takes place in its own universe. When an astronaut brings home an orb he discovered for his daughter, the orb corners her. The universe is filled with dark twisted fantasies, vixens, and horror.
Director Rob Reiner captures the lives of the popular band Spinal Tap on their comeback tour. Along with rock ‘n’ roll hand signs, swaying tongues, and stellar performances a documentary director, Marty DeBergi is intrigued to find out what the band is really like.
