From the clapping of heavy metal thunder comes the Austin-based sensation Eagle Claw. Since their beginning in 2007, the band has quickly gained a huge fan base and has helped create a new heavy metal revival locally. On Friday, Hotel Vegas presents the release of Eagle Claw’s new album Timing of the Void. Special guests will include Austin based metal hardcores Migas, The Well and Curse the Heavens, to fluff you for the main course.
Migas, will fire it up with the heavy guitar licks of Don Stewart, pounding drums of Jason Morales and bringing in double the fun on guitar, Erik Conn. The founders Stewart and Morales have a long extensive history together in their former band Helltrout, which came out of the grunge scene in Olympia, WA. in 1988-1993. Who formerly shared the bill with legends like Soundgarden, The Melvins and Nirvana. The two formed Migas in 1997 and joined with Erik Conn around 2000 from the Austin based locals Tia Carrera.
Kicking open the portals of darkness comes Curse the Heavens and The Well. These Austin based doom/psychedelic metal bands fit right into the ambiance. Following, will be headliners Eagle Claw promoting their highly anticipated album, with the impending doom guitar riffs of Matt Rade and Micheal Gonzalez and hard-edged drum beats of Bart Butler mixed with the slapping bass lines of Luther Smalls. All bringing together a night of metal mayhem that will surely bring some mad fist-pumping back in to their original upright positions.
