Swan Dive will be showcasing a few overlooked gems on Thursday, hosting a night full of blues-rock, with hints of folk, soul and punk. Headlining will be up-and-coming blues-rockers Cause In Effect, supported by The Act Rights and Professor Cowboy & The Space Crazies.
Blues and rock ‘n’ roll trio Cause In Effect is two months shy of a year old, but already sounds ingeniously tailored with their style and technique, fearlessly embracing gritty blues and classic rock ‘n’ roll with progressive pop-rock influences. Their flawlessly mastered new single, “Live Another Day”, were recorded in Chris “Frenchie” Smith’s recording studio, The Bubble. The band is gaining momentum and establishing themselves in Austin; in May they were featured on Balcony TV, and have been labeled as an up-and-coming artist by Our Vinyl—stating that “Cause in Effect is one of those new artists who’s studio recordings sound great, but live performances are even better—all due to improvisation.”
The evening will kick off with blues-rock band Professor Cowboy & The Space Crazies. The band has a charming and encompassing sound with vocals as thick and sweet as molasses, ruthless guitar riffs and distortion, and brilliant percussion compositions. The Space Crazies have performed at the Oh Snap! Festival, West by West Campus, shared the stage with Rebecca Butler and The Richards, and performed at a Red River Noise showcase with Scorpion Child and Amplified Heat. Currently, the band has taken advantage of the summertime to write and record their debut album.
Swan Dive is located at 651 Red River St. The show has a $6 cover and starts at 10 p.m. Click on the link to get the Facebook event post.
